They're Creepy and They're Kooky

The Addams family is a staple of  Halloween time and has been inspiring beautiful gothic looks for decades, but lately, there has been an Addams family pandemonium with two cartoon movies coming out in 2019 and 2021 and the new series Wednesday dropping over Thanksgiving. The Addams family is a loving slightly spooky family that is captivating audiences. But what makes them so popular? Let's start with Gomez and Morticia. This couple is the perfect model of gentle parenting and a marriage full of maybe just a
tad too much PDA. They represent the happy supportive parents who will always stand behind their kids even if it is when Wednesday is electrocuting Pugsley. Not only that but they tend to display open and honest communication in a healthy manner.  Wednesday and Pugsly show a typical healthy although morbid sibling relationship who care for and love each other even if they display it in a monotone manner. Pugsly is the Golden Retriever to Wednesdays black cat making them the perfect sibling duo. Going beyond that the family was created to be the opposite of your typical suburban family in the '50s in a time when the American dream was more propaganda than anything else.

On top of all that the films, movies, shows, and comics are a gothic lovers' dream. With the color palates being drenched in grey and black, Victorian-inspired sets, and witty dialogue it seems this family has wormed its way into everyone's hearts and will stay there for many more decades. With this new Netflix adaptation of the family, I'm sure we will see plenty more fans of the family come to be.
